  • Tickets for the world’s biggest classic motor racing festival
  • The cars are the stars: a flat-out trip down memory lane
  • Feast of mouth-watering attractions and amusements for all ages
  • The perfect fun-fuelled entertainment gift for all dads

If you are in a spin and struggling for traction when it comes to finding the perfect Father’s Day (Sunday 16 June) gift, it is time to get a grip and repay favours by purchasing tickets to this summer’s spectacular Silverstone Classic.

As the world’s biggest classic motor racing festival, the action-packed, three-day extravaganza (26-28 July) is heaven for any petrolhead. What’s more, with a host of fun-fuelled off-track entertainment for all ages – plus a special Family Ticket option – the entire household can join in the high-speed thrills and spills, making what is already an unforgettable Father’s Day present all the more special.

No matter what his particular interest, any fun-loving dad will be thrilled by a visit to the nostalgic Silverstone Classic – an amazing, flat-out trip down memory lane to the halcyon days of his youth.

Across three full days of non-stop entertainment, there will be a glittering array of attractions and activities, headed by a glorious line-up of unmissable races on the famous Silverstone Grand Prix circuit. These feature many of the world’s rarest, most spectacular and valuable racing cars from past golden eras.

Ranging from the evocative Bentleys and Bugattis of the 1920s right up to the most recent generation of superfast prototypes, the stellar race card will deliver some of the most eye-catching grids ever seen in this country covering the glittering history of Formula 1, Le Mans, sports, touring and GT cars.

Moreover, this year’s feast includes two unmissable races to celebrate the much-loved Mini’s 60th birthday. With full-capacity 58-car grids they will be record-breakers; never before – and maybe never again – have so many racing Minis all lined up together to race on track. Other showdowns will mark Bentley’s centenary as well as 50 years of the Capri – the car all dads always promised themselves!

There’ll be famous faces, too, with the presence of world champions on both two and four wheels. Bike heroes including ‘Fast’ Freddie Spencer and Wayne Gardner will be revving up once again with the World GP Bike Legends showcase while Sir Jackie Stewart will be reunited with his 1969 British Grand Prix winning Matra-Ford for some evocative demo laps 50 years after winning the first of his three world championship titles.

As if that isn’t enough to put a huge smile on every dad’s face, there will be more than 10,000 classic cars lovingly exhibited on the infield, ranging from awe-inspiring Ferraris and Aston Martins to lovable Morgans and MGs.

Maintaining the event’s ‘Rocking and Racing’ tradition, live music from classic rock bands will also be a popular feature for all foot-tapping fathers, with crowd-pleasing concerts on both Friday and Saturday evenings.

This year there’s a special homage to mark 50 years since the seminal Woodstock Festival (ask your dad!) with the music of original performers Creedence Clearwater Revival, Joe Cocker, Jimi Hendrix, Santana, Sly and the Family Stone, Ten Years After and The Who.

And the entertainment doesn’t stop there. A vintage funfair on the busy Village Green, classic car auctions, hot air balloon displays, streetcar shoot-outs, 4×4 passenger experiences, crazy golf, a huge Shopping Village, Car Clinics with the original Wheeler Dealer, Mike Brewer, and live stunt shows are all part of the most remarkable classic car festival of the year.

“The Silverstone Classic is the biggest and best classic motor racing festival in the world and there really is something for everyone,” enthused Nick Wigley, Silverstone Classic CEO. “That’s why a family day out at the Silverstone Classic is the perfect Father’s Day gift for any dad with even the smallest drop of high-octane fuel running through his veins.”

Adult general admission starts at £45 and all tickets provide access to both Silverstone racing paddocks, all open trackside grandstands, live music concerts, Drive Live test drives, funfair rides and the vast majority of the great family entertainment on offer.

A wide range of child, young adult and family tickets are also available for those wishing to share in the Father’s Day gift, along with camping and hospitality options. And if dad has already purchased 2019 Silverstone Classic tickets, there’s always the opportunity to upgrade him to a VIP hospitality package making his day even more outstanding.
