The King’s Academy’s celebrate the end of Year 11 in style

PROM stars and supercars all made a grand entrance as dozens of students celebrated the end of their school year in impeccable style.

Year 11 from The King’s Academy, Coulby Newham, Middlesbrough, arrived suited and booted in a cavalcade of high-performance luxury vehicles for the glittering event.

Gullwing Lamborghinis pulled alongside Porches, Aston Martins, Mustangs, Bentleys and a Tesla Model X as 119 students made their way to dine and dance at Wynyard Hall, County Durham.

The King’s Academy vice principal, ethos and community Simon Coe said: “This is the first time that we have held the Year 11 prom outside of the academy.

“We wanted to provide a different opportunity for our students and for them to experience their final time together as a year group at Wynyard Hall.

“Tonight is a very special evening, a night for us to show our appreciation of the commitment and engagement that our students have shown over the last five years and to wish them all well for their future.”

Following dinner themed on a taste of ‘Little Italy’, students enjoyed an evening of music and dancing and made memories to remember in a magic mirror photo booth.

Student Evie Trodden said: “Prom was a really special night and a great way to end the year after a lot of hard work. I got to spend it with my closest friends and teachers and felt really privileged to be named Prom Queen.

“I have made memories to last a lifetime and I’m excited to start The King’s Academy Sixth Form in September.”
