Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

The Princess Alexandra Auditorium in Yarm has confirmed that this year’s Christmas pantomime, Dick Whittington, will be going ahead.

The show, by Tom Rolfe Productions, will be taking to the stage from 19th December to 22nd December.

Bookings can be made over the phone from 10am on Friday 25th September on 01642 792587. Tickets are on special offer until 4th October at £11.50 each and will be £15 thereafter. Online bookings can be made from 12th October.

The Princess Alexandra Auditorium has been grouped into blocks of 6, 5, 4 and 3 online, and tickets will be sold in these blocks to ensure households book together and maintain social distancing. Anyone wanting two or fewer tickets will need to call the box office.

To ensure the safety of the public, the auditorium will be sanitised between shows with a sanitising fog, and all high touch areas and toilets will be cleaned between shows. There will be one-way systems clearly marked around the venue, and all staff will wear face masks. Face masks will also be compulsory for customers for the duration of their visit, and any exempt customers must provide proof.

The previously announced Christmas production, Aladdin, has been postponed to 2021 to ensure the show can go ahead at full capacity, complimenting the scale of the production. Any customers who have purchased Aladdin tickets have been offered exchanges or refunds.

Dan Brookes, auditorium manager at the Princess Alexandra Auditorium, said: “I’m so pleased to confirm our Christmas pantomime this year and I know families across Teesside will thoroughly enjoy the Dick Whittington production.  It will be a light and fun production designed to cheer everyone up!

“We have put in place thorough health and safety procedures to ensure the safety of our staff and customers, and we’re delighted to be able to uphold traditions of family visits to the theatre at Christmastime.”
