The organisers of the Festival of Thrift are urging people to book tickets early to avoid missing out on the programme of activities and workshops taking place at this year’s event.
Tickets are already being snapped up for the wide range suitable for all ages and interests to get involved with, on offer as part of the event on Saturday 23 and 24 September at Kirkleatham, near Redcar.
Reservations at the hugely popular community meal in the Walled Garden for this year’s Saltburn – The Town is the Menu, seats on the IOU mystery travelling theatre bus and places in a host of workshops from blacksmithing to bread-making and creating kitchen cupboard cosmetics to campfire cooking are all selling well.
Stella Hall, Festival of Thrift Director said: “It’s fantastic to see the huge excitement and enthusiasm about getting involved with and taking part in our programme of events and workshops.
“There are some truly one-off experiences on offer. IOU’s mystery tour is an amazing immersive experience that is unique to the Festival and will be unforgettable as will the walled garden meal which was a stunning success with diners last year. And when else do youngsters get the chance to try skills such as blacksmithing and weaving?”
All activities have been carefully priced to make them accessible and affordable with prices starting from £3 per head.
The programme runs as part of a packed schedule for the Festival weekend where visitors have a huge choice of free entertainment and other activities on offer including tree-top acrobats, den-building, seed swaps, digital fixing, lots of live music, thrifty fashion shows, pop-up campervan restaurants and the chance to invest in original artworks from local artists or upcycled artefacts from a huge range of stallholders.
