A Newcastle based fashion retailer that started life with a £90 investment has just been ranked at number 12 in the Fast Track 100 of the UK’s highest growth businesses.
Newcastle based Pink Boutique was started in 2012 by entrepreneur Alice Hall who realised that the Internet was an ideal place to sell glam’ fashion clothing. Now, just four short years on, the company achieves annual sales of around £7.7million with plans to replicate their business model in the USA and Australia.
The business believes in keeping up with the fashion world and can release up to 20 new styles every day, another reason why Pink Boutique has grown so quickly and the ranking achieved.
“This is excellent news for Pink Boutique and the North East in general,” said Alice. “Our growth has been phenomenal having started with a handful of dresses posted every day to our present level of around 2,000 garments a day. We’ve seen annual sales growth of 139% over the last three years and we now employ 57 people.
“I’m delighted to have this recognition for the business and all of our hard working staff. “
The business is situated in a 30,000 square foot factory unit in Newcastle and looks after its own buying, merchandising, customer care, warehousing, IT, HR and finance.
“ My mother, Julie Blackie is our financial director. We’re a great team and we invest a lot of time in making sure our customers and staff are happy. I truly believe that this is one of the reasons for our rapid growth and success.
