Sharon Cook, of Eyemouth, has just been appointed Manager of the Trade Counter at JH Wood.
Well-known Berwick-upon-Tweed engineers, JH Wood, are proud to announce the appointment of Sharon Cook as Trade Store Manager. Bringing with her over 25 year’s experience within the industry, Sharon’s aim is to expand and further develop the Trade Counter within the JH Wood premises, on the East Ord Trading Estate.
With an ambition of both expansion and development, Sharon is keen to continue to promote the company’s reputation of engineering excellence. Sharon has overall responsibility for the management of the busy trade counter, as well as being responsible for looking after purchasing and sourcing for this area of the business.
The trade counter at JH Wood, which has recently expanded its floor space, offers a huge range of parts, components, and tools from brands such as DeWALT, Eliza Tinsley, Hitachi, Stanley and Crossling. They also stock a large range of grain dryer parts and machinery paints, and they have recently introduced a sourcing service.
Describing herself as a procurement professional, Sharon’s wealth of industry knowledge in stores management and purchasing stems from years of experience gained in working for companies; such as Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI), SembCorp Utilities UK Limited, Sabre Rail Services Ltd and more recently, Farne & Salmon Ltd.
On taking up her position with this renowned firm of engineers, Sharon said: “I am delighted to take up the role of Trade Store Manager at JH Wood and very excited to move the business forward. We have recently expanded our opening hours to include Saturday mornings, and we are operating a 24 hour sourcing and turn round service for items not physically in stock.
JH Wood are looking to the future, however we must remember that this is a company with a long history, and as such we have a fantastic range of vintage stock including; imperial nuts, bolts, fittings and taps, with some pre-dating to 1952. Whatever you might want, please ask as it is more likely, whether it be welding rods or electric pumps and motors, we have it.”
Sharon’s main aim for JH Wood is to take the company forward, and expand on the shop and customer service section. She is also keen to hear from all customers with any ideas or suggestions, as to what they would like to see stocked.

Open Monday to Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM, JH Wood are also happy to announce that they will be opening on Saturday mornings too, from 8:00AM to 12:00PM.
