Light commercial vehicle rental company, Transflex Vehicle Rental is celebrating after being named as the fastest growing large business in the annual Ward Hadaway Fastest 50 Awards.
Now in its 20th year, the Ward Hadaway North East Fastest 50 highlights the achievements of fast-growing companies by compiling an annual list of the fastest growing privately-owned businesses across the North East.
Transflex directors – Gary Henry and Tina Lynas – received the accolade at the Ward Hadaway North East Fastest 50 Awards 2017 on Friday 6 October at The Baltic, Centre for Contemporary Art, where the fastest growing medium and small businesses in the region were also crowned.
This award is the latest piece of good news for the company which was recently acquired by TOM Vehicle Rental – making the business the third largest light commercial, flexible rental business operating in the UK.
Combined, Transflex and TOM Vehicle Rental have a fleet of more than 16,000 vans, trucks, trailers and cars across a UK-wide depot network of 15 sites including five in the North of England, six in Scotland and four in the South.
Transflex provides businesses with flexible commercial vehicle hire and sales and has seen the business grow substantially with numerous expansions, recruitment drives and accolades in the last 12 months.

The Ward Hadaway North East Fastest 50 has been published every year since 1998 and is compiled and organised by law firm Ward Hadaway, which has offices in Newcastle, Leeds and Manchester.

Founded in Stockton in 2012, Transflex Vehicle Rental had also been named as one of the UK’s fastest growing companies on the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 list at position 13.
Transflex currently employs over 85 people across four branches – Stockton, Buckingham and Warrington and Bristol. It provides flexible rental vehicles for businesses, offering their customers the freedom to change or return vehicles at any time without notice or penalty.
