Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Transmit Start-Ups Announces Affiliation with Baldwins

National delivery partner of the government Start Up Loans scheme, Transmit Start-Ups, has entered into an affiliation with accounting firm Baldwins, as both businesses look to offer a new, added-value service to clients across the North East.

This is a perfect fit for both parties, as Transmit Start-Ups will provide finance to Baldwins early-stage clients, while the Baldwins team will offer its professional services to start-up loan recipients.

The announcement of this marks the end to a year of huge growth for both Transmit Start-Ups and Baldwins.

North East-based Transmit Start-Ups hit a record milestone this year, lending a total of £20 million to over 2,000 entrepreneurs and has successfully expanded into Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to become a UK-wide delivery partner of the government Start-Up loan scheme. The new partnership will further deepen Transmit Start-Ups links into the start-up sectors, enhancing its network of over 200 intermediaries across the UK.

Baldwins, a Cogital Group Company, has established itself as one of the fastest-growing accountancy firms in the UK following the completion of a number of successful acquisitions, both in the North East and also nationally, including a recent expansion into Scotland.

The scheme will be rolled out in the North East, as both businesses have firmly established roots in the region. 28 per cent of Transmit Start-Ups loan recipients are based in the North East, while Baldwins has 11 offices in the local area.

Commenting, Richard Myers, Commercial Director at Transmit Start-Ups, said: “Creating this affiliation with an accounting firm like Baldwins is really exciting for Transmit Start-Ups. They have a really ambitious plan to provide an excellent accounting service across the whole of the UK. The partnership is a great fit for us as we continue to provide finance for start-ups and early stage businesses from Land’s End to John O’Groats, as well as Wales and Northern Ireland.

“The announcement is the perfect way to end another exciting year for Transmit Start-Ups. Only a few months ago we approved our 2000th loan, under the Start Up Loans programme, funded by the British Business Bank.

“Through the working relationship we hope to provide clients of Baldwins with a very customer-focussed service that will find them the best business finance for start-up and growth and are very much looking forward to what 2018 will bring.”

Commenting on the announcement, Phil Empson, Director of Banking & Finance at Baldwins, said: “Baldwins are delighted to be affiliated with Transmit Start Up loans and this will provide our early stage Clients with access to funding that will allow their business aspirations to come to life.”

“Whilst Baldwins continues to grow at a pace we still provide a bespoke accountancy and added value service to all businesses no matter what their size. Supporting our start up and embryonic clients is equally important as servicing our larger clients. The link up with Transmit will expand our added value service lines to enable us to assist these early stage businesses with funding.”
