Sony today introduces its XAV-AX8050D and XAV-1500 in car audio receivers, teaming together some of the most advanced and amazing displays yet. The new sound and extensive usability features enhance your driving experience in a way that’s safer and smarter for use on the roads.

XAV-AX8050D’s clear and responsive anti-glare touch screen

Looking for directions on maps or changing your music will no longer be a distraction from the road in front of you with the new in-car audio receiver. Enjoy the XAV-AX8050D’s large display with an 8.95-inch anti-glare touchscreen.

The XAV-AX8050D has a unique 3-way sturdy and adjustable display mount with tilt, height and depth flexible installation, suiting the needs of your own vehicle and driver preferences[2]. Comfort and easy operation go hand in hand with Sony’s new in-car audio receiver, all whilst minimising distractions.

Safety and innovative design are at the heart. The perfect convergence of lighter touch operation and improved visibility makes everything easy to see at a glance, an essential feature when on the road.

Enhanced smartphone connectivity

Apple CarPlay on the XAV-AX8050D seamlessly integrates iPhone with the car audio’s display and controls. It enables users to make phone calls, access music, send and receive messages, get directions optimized for traffic and more while the driver stays focused on the road. Apple CarPlay now supports third-party navigation apps, so it provides even more choices to get to the destination[3].

  • Designed with safety and convenience in mind, Android Auto™ on the XAV-AX8050D is a simpler way to use a smartphone with the car’s display. With the Google Assistant on Android Auto, drivers can stay focused, connected and entertained, keeping their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel, while using voice to help with daily tasks[4]
  • WebLink™ Cast – WebLink is a lightweight app delivery platform designed especially for in-vehicle use. Using the Android or iOS device connection, it is now updated with the ability to mirror your smartphone screen on the XAV-AX8050D display for reliable, responsive infotainment anytime on the road (available with firmware update)[5]

Be your own sound organizer

  • The XAV-AX8050D also features quality sound optimization that enables drivers to make their own adjustments and create a sound field ideal for their own personal taste to optimise their driving experience
  • DSO (Dynamic Stage Organizer) creates a more ambient sound as if there were speakers on the dashboard. The EXTRA BASS™ feature overcomes engine noise and reproduces a clear punchy sound at any volume level, allowing you to get delicate and heavy boost settings depending on your mood and personal preferences[6]

The XAV-X8050D is also FLAC Audio File compatible. FLAC compresses music without any loss in quality. The XAV-X8050D can play back FLAC files with up to 24-bit depth and sampling frequency at 48kHz[7].

In addition to this, the XAV-X8050D features high voltage 3-preout. The 5-volt signal offers clearer sound with less distortion when the head unit is connected to a power amplifier for future acoustic expandability.

Extensive features at their finest

With the remarkable quick wake-up feature on the XAV-X8050D, you are ready to hit the road soon after the ignition is turned on[8].

If you have a rear camera installed, you can view it through the screen, along with customisable guidelines that help you back into a space safely.

XAV-1500 will revolutionise your driving experience

Mirror your smartphone screen on the XAV-1500 with WebLink™ Cast and connect through Bluetooth with hands-free calling and wireless audio streaming.
