THREE of the North East’s biggest sports teams are set to get a taste of Stateside dining thanks to one of Tyneside’s top bars.

Osbornes at Osborne Road, Jesmond is inviting players from the Newcastle Eagles, The Falcons and Newcastle United to sample their new all-Amercian menu on April 13.

The menu, which takes its inspiration from all corners of America, will give the hat-trick of teams the chance to sample a variety of US classics, from some of the traditional North American favourites to the hot and spicy dishes of Mexico.

“We’re delighted to welcome so many esteemed athletes through our doors and give them the chance to sample some of the great food we offer,” said Atul Malhotra, director of Malhotra Group PLC.

“Our new menu is packed full of flavour and is proving incredibly popular among our customers. All our dishes are freshly cooked using the finest ingredients and this is a great opportunity to showcase the high standards of food we serve.”

The new Stateside menu offers diners 100 per cent ground beef or chicken breast fillet burgers with a variety of toppings from bbq sauce, bacon, jalapeños, Emmental cheese and rocket to hot house beef chilli, tortilla chips, soured cream and guacamole.

Alternatively customers can choose from a number of America’s other favourite dishes including, hot dogs, steak and fries, mac ‘n’ cheese and garlic chicken breast served with a choice of hand cut chips or fries and salad.

Osbornes’ new menu also offers a variety of sides, some classic US desserts, including Knickerbocker Glory and hot fudge sundae, and a brunch menu served on Saturday and Sunday from 10am until midday.

Alongside its American diner dishes, Osbornes also offers an extensive drinks menu including everything from milkshakes and cocktails to real ales and premium spirits.

To complement the Stateside menu, the restaurant will also be launching a new range of hardshakes.

Among the alcoholic milkshakes will be the venue’s twist on the classic cola floater – the Caramel cola floater – made with Stoli Salted Karamel, pepsi and vanilla ice cream and Mint Madness, made with crème de menthe, Stoli Chocolate Kokonut and chocolate ice cream.

Osbornes is open seven days a week, from 10am to 11pm. For further information call the restaurant on 0191 240 7778 or visit www.osbornesjesmond.co.uk
