Following on from a successful trip to Stamford Bridge the previous weekend, Chelsea FC Foundation have, this past weekend (7/8 June) been at Heritage Park and King James 3g with the St Mary’s U8 Aces.
Coaches from the Chelsea were seen delivering both presentations, and practical sessions to the 9-12 year-olds at the club and has set up for a return to the Bridge in September in a partnership which continues to flourish.
Speaking of the weekend, Bishop Auckland FC Chairman, Steve Coulthard, who is also the Chairman of the St Mary’s Juniors set-up, said: “We’ve had a fantastic weekend at Bishop Auckland FC following the visit of two Chelsea Foundation coaches.
“They visited the club to provide some valuable coaching with our young U8 Aces team from St Marys Juniors.
“The Foundation coaches also provided a presentation to some of our coaches and passed on some great, new coaching methods we will look to implement moving forward.
“I’d like to thank the Chelsea Foundation, Hyundai and SG Petch for making something like this happen.”
Bishops, who already have links forged with numerous professional clubs over the years, received the following from the Chelsea Foundation earlier this week.
“I would like to start by saying a huge thank you to everyone at Bishop Auckland Football Club for all their efforts in helping us deliver what truly was a fantastic few days of football to players & coaches at the club,” began Laurence Griffin, Senior Development Officer at the Chelsea Foundation.
“As discussed, the CFC & Hyundai partnership is one that aims to support you and the club in the future with the next step of the journey being to invite you and your team to our Cobham training ground later in the year.
“Prior to this visit however, if there’s anything we can do to support you then please do not hesitate to get in touch.”
