Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Venator community fund returns for its fourth year running

Wynyard, UK – The Venator Community Fund returns for the fourth year in a row and is offering community groups across the North East grants of up to £1,000 as part of its £11,500 prize fund.

Since the fund was established in 2018, The Venator Community Fund has awarded £50,250 to schools, community groups and charities across the region.

This year, Venator is offering a top award of £1,000 to the application that receives the most public votes in an online poll, with £750 and £500 awarded to the second and third placed projects. Another 37 winners will receive a grant of £250.

Groups are invited to apply online and propose, in no more than 250 words, how their group would use the funding to support teamwork and innovation in their community, two of Venators core values. Entries are open until 12pm on Thursday 9th June 2022.

All projects must benefit communities in the North East of England within the local authority boroughs of Darlington, Durham, Gateshead, Hambleton, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, Redcar & Cleveland, South Tyneside, Stockton and Sunderland.

Voting opens to the public at 12pm on Monday 13th June and will close at 12pm on Thursday 7th July. Overall winners are set to be announced during the week beginning Monday 11th July.

Last year’s winners consisted of Hartlepool Rugby Football club, which took the top prize fund of £1,000. Other winners included Heel & Toe charity in Durham, Kingston Park Primary School, The Owl Tree Children’s Café and Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade.

After a challenging few years, Venator is pleased to be able to continue to give back to the North East community by rewarding charities, community groups and educational establishments for the amazing work that they do every day.

This year they hope to see a whole new range of community groups who inspire innovation and teamwork enter, as well as previous winners of the fund.
