Milton Keynes, UK – Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ Mobile Service Clinics are helping keep healthcare fleets on the road during the COVID-19 crisis thanks to dedicated work by its expert technicians.

Cordwallis Group, which has Van Centres across London and Thames Valley area, operates three Mobile Service Clinic vans and has been using these over the past two weeks to visit several of its key customers.

Technicians have attended to over 20 vans from the Alliance Healthcare fleet over the past week, including non-Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles products, to make sure they don’t spend a second off the road. Alliance Healthcare is a key part of the national effort against COVID-19, as one of the leading distributors and wholesalers of pharmaceutical, medical and healthcare products in the UK.

Cordwallis Group has also been active in keeping the Air Liquide fleet stay on the road and continue delivering oxygen to patients at home, and is on standby to support several of its other key customers.

The Mobile Service Clinic is a specially converted Volkswagen Crafter, kitted out with an array of on-board tools including compressed air jacks and even a hand wash basin.

Technicians operating the Mobile Service Clinics are able to carry out service work, inspections, repairs and software updates, allowing any issues to be resolved quickly and efficiently, minimising the time the van spends off the road and increasing time spent completing vital deliveries.

If the issue cannot be resolved at the roadside, Cordwallis Group is also running an emergency fast-track workshop service to get the vehicle delivered back to the customer as quickly as possible.

Rob Zubovic, Managing Director at Cordwallis Group, said: “We are delighted we are able to support some of our loyal and long-term fleet customers during this difficult period as part of our Working With You promise.

“The Mobile Service Clinics are the perfect way to keep some of these vital services moving without the need to take them off the road for long periods of time.”

All visits and maintenance are carried out in line with government guidelines, with the safety of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ colleagues, customers and communities a key priority.
