Washington Direct Mail, a leading UK mailing house based in Gateshead, are one of the very few mailing companies to receive ISO27001.
ISO27001 is the international standard for the best practice for ISMS (information security management system). In a post-GDPR world, with data privacy and protection at the very heart of business foundations, this accreditation paves the way for an exciting year at WDM.
The accreditation also means that the printing house – originally established as a family-run company in 1983 – can now compete with the country’s largest print management and direct mail companies. ISO27001 joins the other accreditations, including ISO9001, 1SO4001 and ISO8001.

Many of our major UK competitors will simply struggle to match us on many of these as they’re geared up for vast volumes that don’t change very often.”
The company is reporting that 2018 will be their biggest yet, with further plans for expansion across the country. In the last 12 months, the company has grown by an astonishing 50%, expected to turn over a profit exceeding £3 million at the end of its financial year.
WDM recently announced their latest appointment, with Steve Evans taking on the role of Compliance Manager. Lynn said: “Steve has vast experience of delivering quality and compliance strategies for international businesses and his appointment will significantly strengthen our management team.”
