One of the biggest names in music, the Bajan star is set to take to the stage in the Anti-Tour, named after her new album – and Sunderland’s Stadium of Light will play host to the show on Saturday 18 June, 2016, one of only six UK venues and the only one north of Manchester.
Ri-Ri, who has sold 54 million albums and 210 million digital tracks worldwide making her the top-selling digital artist of all time, will be joined by The Weeknd and Big Sean, respectively, as special guests at the Stadium of Light.
SAFC’s commercial director, Gary Hutchinson, said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming Rihanna back to the Stadium of Light. Her first visit to Wearside was a huge success, breaking the record for concert-goers at the Stadium with over 56,000 people attending.
“Rihanna is one of the biggest artists of her generation and this announcement has cemented the Stadium of Light as one of the top venues in the UK for major music acts.”
