The Mayor of Redcar & Cleveland Mayor Councillor Karen King will officially open the summer fete at the recently opened The Dunes in Redcar, the second Redcare Extra Care supported housing development.
The community event, whichstarts at 1.00pm on Saturday 19th August, is being organised in partnership with Comfort Call and will welcome residents, members of the community and many local businesses who are being given the chance to set up stalls selling locally produced goods, including gifts.
The Dunes, in Redcar, is an innovative development of 64 one and two bedroom extra care apartments to rent for those aged 55 and over. The site has extensive communal facilities, with on-site care and support available 24/7, 365 days a year.
Iain Sim, chief executive of Coast & Country Housing, said: “The summer fete will be a fantastic event for all members of the local community to enjoy.
“The event very much ties in with The Dune’s community-driven ethos and will involve residents, members of the local community alongside local businesses.”
