A FAST-growing perfume brand which sells unique fragrances inspired by the Middle East is reporting record success after opening its first North East store.
Ya Dubai has created a stylish kiosk in the centre of Sunderland’s the Bridges, offering a range of perfumes loved in the UAE, as well as versions of other top selling scents.
And despite just having launched, Ya Dubai has become a huge hit with shoppers, with a massive rush to buy.
Ash Ali, who spent years working in the fragrance industry before launching Ya Dubai, said the response to the Sunderland outlet had far exceeded his expectations.
“We had enough stock for what we thought we would sell for the first two weeks and we sold out in three days,” he said.
“The response has been unbelievable, we have been busy every single day since we opened and it just confirmed my belief that Sunderland was a fantastic place to open our first kiosk in the North East.”
Ash added that he decided to come to Sunderland after visiting the city, seeing “the amount of investment that was taking place.”
He believes the company’s formula of offering favourite Middle Eastern fragrances like Oud along with more affordable versions of top end perfumes has been a winning one.
Karen Eve, Centre Director at the Bridges, is delighted that Ya Dubai has become such a hit.
“We are absolutely thrilled that Ya Dubai’s faith in opening at the Bridges has proved a great move for the company,” she said.
“Shoppers are absolutely loving their amazing range of products and they are a great addition to the centre.”
Opening in Sunderland is part of a rapid expansion plan by Ya Dubai which has stores in Stoke, Liverpool, Blackburn, Preston, Doncaster and Essex, with further kiosks to open in Leicester, Glasgow and Edinburgh this year.
