Yarm School is set to bring live screenings of performances from the prestigious Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and the National Theatre (NT) to its award-winning Lecture Theatre.

The highly-praised RSC production of The Tempest is currently running at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, with renowned cast member Simon Russell Beale returning to the company after 20 years to play the role of Prospero.

Yarm School will offer audiences a unique opportunity to see the production live from Stratford-upon-Avon in its 140 seat Lecture Theatre on Wednesday 11th January at 7:00pm.

Following their hit on Broadway, Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart returned to the West End to star in No Man’s Land alongside Owen Teale and Damien Molony. The NT live production will be screened at Yarm School on Thursday 26th January at 7:00pm. The broadcast will be followed by an exclusive Q&A with the cast and director Sean Mathias.

David Dunn, Headmaster of Yarm School, said “We are delighted to bring live screenings from the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre to Yarm. State of the art technology has been installed to create an unforgettable theatrical experience.

“2017 is shaping up to be a fantastic year for the arts at Yarm School. Live screenings are a new venture for us and will sit alongside productions in the Princess Alexandra Auditorium featuring high profile celebrities and performers, such as Professor Robert Winston, Rob Beckett, Leo Sayer and our own very talented young people.”

To celebrate the launch of live screenings, tickets for The Tempest and No Man’s Land will be priced at an introductory offer of £10. Future screenings planned include Saint Joan, Hedda Gabler, Julius Caesar and Twelfth Night which are priced at £15 for adults and £10 for children.
