Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Yarm School tapping its heels and toes at ball in aid of local charity

Yarm Preparatory School raised £4,000 for County Durham based charity Heel & Toe at a glamorous circus-themed ball.

The ball, held at the Princess Alexandra Auditorium, featured a variety of exciting specialist performers, including aerial acrobat and flame thrower Edson Caballero and Steve Cousins, the balloonatic and ringmaster.

Guests helped to raise money for the charity through the many activities during the evening, including a raffle, auction and silent auction. The money raised also included generous match funding from Barclaycard and Macquarie Bank.

Founded in 2008 by Paul Bannister, the not for profit organisation offers a range of treatments and therapies for children living with Cerebral Palsy and other physical disabilities across the North East.

Paul Gilsenan, Chairman of Heel & Toe, said: “The support we have received from Yarm School is fantastic and its generosity won’t be forgotten.

“The donation will be truly life-changing to those who are supported by our charity and I’d like to say thank you from everyone at Heel & Toe and from the families that will benefit from your kindness.”

Bill Sawyer, head of Yarm Preparatory School, said: “Each year we hold a Prep School Ball to raise money for incredible local charities and this year we are proud to have been able to support Heel & Toe.

“The charity has done some amazing work in our local community and it deserves continued support and recognition.

“The evening was fantastic, and the circus acts were outstanding. A huge well done to all.”
