YJL Unveils New Cross-Genre Vision: A Juilliard-Trained Cellist Introducing a Fresh Fusion of Cello and K-Pop Energy

Artist: YJL

Release Date:

International composer, cellist, and rising creative force YJL announces a powerful new chapter in her artistic journey, blending world-class classical mastery with vibrant modern soundscapes and K-pop-inspired flair. With eight completed tracks and two music videos ready for release, YJL steps into the global spotlight with an entirely self-composed catalogue created on Logic Pro, showcasing her evolving identity as both performer and producer.

A graduate of both The Juilliard School (New York) and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris—each on scholarship—YJL has earned international acclaim for her virtuosity. Critics have praised her “great ease and sensitivity” (Das Orchester) and “technical flawlessness and rich sound” (The Strad). Her classical recordings, including Prokofiev’s Sinfonia Concertante, have been described as “highly recommended” (Classical Net).

Now based in Seoul, YJL draws on her multicultural background—having lived in the U.S., France, Belgium, and Korea—and her fluency in English, French, and Korean to build a uniquely global artistic identity. Her upcoming releases merge cinematic strings, pop-driven energy, and the emotion of modern Korean production, forming a style she describes as “cello + K-pop fusion with emotional storytelling.”

A New Creative Era

YJL’s new songs—titled “New Day,” “Sky,” “Soft Star,” “Jazz On,” “Je T’aime,” and “Vibe”—capture the atmosphere of her personal artistic rebirth: uplifting, melodic, and emotionally vivid. Each track is accompanied by strong visual concepts designed for digital virality, positioned for major audiences across Asia, Europe, North America, and South America.

Beyond performance, YJL has also produced the project “Familiar Classics,” collaborating with a Netflix comedian, a Forbes-featured pianist, and celebrated Juilliard alumni. Her easy-going personality, cross-genre creativity, and ability to connect cultures through music make her a standout figure for interviews, features, and global editorial opportunities.

Background & Human Angle

Despite her father’s high-profile career as Korea’s former Minister of Trade and Industry and former Vice CEO of LG, YJL emphasizes her own independent journey—having grown up modestly and working tirelessly as a private cello teacher in Seoul while performing in classical concerts across Europe and Asia. Her story includes years of hard work, personal reinvention, and deep passion for artistic freedom.

Outside the studio, she keeps a balanced lifestyle: dancing, jogging, and enjoying jazz. Her personality is warm, funny, and approachable—traits she hopes to share through short performance and storytelling videos designed for fans and media alike.

A Global Vision

YJL’s goals for this campaign center on online viral marketing, music video exposure, and cross-territory reach, with a focus on Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Her vibrant visuals, multilingual fluidity, and genre-blending sound position her perfectly for international digital audiences and press.

“My new passion is composing. It’s challenging—but SO MUCH FUN. This joy is my long-term commitment.” – YJL
