North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

On Saturday 3 September, the town centre will welcome cars, military vehicles, bikes and even old-fashioned fire engines, from across the decades – and organisers are calling on anyone who still wants to take part to sign up now.

The show will be the centrepiece of a day of free, family entertainment at the town centre’s Joseph Pease Place, West Row and Market Square and organiser, Distinct Darlington, said places are still available for classic car exhibitors.

“We really want as many types of vehicle, from as many different eras, as possible,” said Alex Hirst, manager of Distinct Darlington, which was formed to promote business in the town centre.

“So, I would urge any owners, or car clubs who haven’t already registered, to do so as soon as possible.”

Along with the chance to get up close to vehicles from days gone by, visitors will be able to chat to exhibitors and enjoy a variety of automotive-themed entertainment throughout the day.

There will be the chance to help a local graffiti artist transform a scrapped car into a community art installation and Darlington business, Hole in the Wall Market Tavern and Kitchen, will be on hand to provide refreshments and musical entertainment.

And the UK’s leading freestyle mountain bike stunt team, Savage Skills, will provide a dare devil show, suitable for all ages.

Darlington’s Classic Car Show will take place between 10am and 4pm and exhibitors must register no later than 26 August.

Registration is free and forms and further information can be found at www.distinctdarlington.co.uk/events.
