Award winning artists and professional photographers will be showcased at Purquoise’s charity art auction at O’Grady’s Hotel in Redcar on Saturday 1 July.

The art is available to be viewed on the website, purquoise.uk and bids can be placed prior to the event, with the free-entry auction starting at 1pm.

An evening of entertainment will follow the auction, from 7pm, and will include food, live music, a raffle and a remembrance tree. Tickets are £5 and can be purchased from the website.

All proceeds will go to local mental health charity, Middlesbrough and Stockton Mind.

Purquoise was set up in 2013 by Redcar resident Sarah Jane Ashcroft in memory of a family member who died in her twenties.

Sarah Jane said:”This cause is very personal to me, my family and friends. We are hoping other families who have experienced the loss of a young person will join with us to celebrate their loved ones and help raise awareness.”

For more information on Purquoise, go to purquoise.uk. Purquoise Day is held on 22 October every year to remember people who died too young by wearing purple or turquoise.
