Cleveland Bridge UK has bid a fond farewell to a colleague who has retired after 50 years’ of service at the company.
Trevor Luxmore decided to retire from his position just after his 65th birthday. In honour of him spending the whole of his working life at Cleveland Bridge, the company threw Trevor a retirement party at its social club on Neasham Road, which was attended by Trevor’s colleagues, friends and family.
After initially joining in 1967 at the age of 16 as Post Boy, a role he’s kept ever since, Trevor has become a much-loved fixture at the Darlington-based manufacturer.
Over the years Trevor’s held a range of support jobs including running the Safety Wear Shop, distributing drawings to the template makers, helping to manage the stationary store and maintaining the post room.
Chris Droogan, Managing Director of Cleveland Bridge UK said, “50 years’ service is a remarkable landmark for anyone to achieve. The company has been fortunate and is extremely grateful to have had the benefit of Trevor’s loyalty and commitment for the past 50 years.”
Trevor Luxmore added, “Cleveland Bridge provided me with my very first job and I’m still here 50 years later. I’ve worked with some fantastic people who have become friends and who have made this experience so much more than just a job. I am really grateful to the company for the party and to everyone that came. It was a lovely evening.”
