Coast & Country Donates more than £12,000 to Charities and Community Groups

17789Coast & Country has raised more than £12,000 for local and national charities.

Staff have been busy raising funds for the Great North Air Ambulance, Zoe’s Place and Cancer Research UK.

Each charity was presented with a cheque for £4000 during an event at the Marquee at Westfield Farm.

Staff at Coast & Country have undertaken a series of fundraising events over the past two years.  Initiatives included quiz and race nights, golf and spa days and cake and bake sales. Prize money from the Fire Brigade Christmas Carol fire safety competition was also put towards the final total.

A group of hardy staff took part in the Redcar Boxing Day dip, braving the freezing North Sea – all for a good cause!

Coast & Country has also helped the local communities that it operates in by sponsoring a number of groups and initiatives. The organisation supported 16 different community groups during 2014 and 2015.

Community groups to benefit from Coast & Country’s sponsorship range from sports clubs, (including Grangetown Junior Football club, Boro’ Rangers and Redcar RUFC),  local schools, (Belmont Primary School in Guisborough and South Bank Primary School’s It’s a Knockout Team) and community initiatives (Friends of Guisborough Forest and Redcar in Bloom).

Iain Sim, Chief Executive of Coast & County, said: “Coast & Country is about far more than housing and all our staff embrace this ethos, as the magnificent fundraising efforts testify.

“Coast & Country is delighted to donate this money to the Great North Air Ambulance, Cancer Research UK and Zoe’s Place. The money that has been raised over the past two years is really important for these charities and it will help them to continue their important work.

“Coast & Country is also committed to helping those in the communities that it serves and is happy to provide sponsorship to 16 local groups in those areas. These groups play a huge role within the neighbourhoods and it is vitally important that organisations such as Coast & Country support them to continue their excellent work.”
