Don't Miss Out - Fun FayreFamilies can enjoy all the fun of the fayre at one of the key events in South Tyneside this summer.

South Tyneside Council is hosting a Summer Charity Fayre on Saturday 25 June, from 12.30pm to 4.30pm, in Bents Park, South Shields, as part of the annual South Tyneside Festival.

The Mayor of South Tyneside, Councillor Alan Smith, will officially open the Fayre which will feature live music from local band The Gaslighters, Morris dancing from the Benfieldside Folk Dance Group, children’s entertainment, fairground rides, face painting, a climbing wall and garden games arena.

The afternoon of free family-friendly entertainment will also include circus skills with the Circus Whiz workshop, The Living Waters marching band and the The Tales of Robin Hood interactive performance, with members of the audience playing all of the main parts.

Alongside the fun activities there will be a range of local stalls supporting local charities and community groups toraise funds and awareness of their causes, which visitors can browse.

The Mayor said: “The Summer Charity Fayre is a wonderful opportunity for families of all ages to enjoy an afternoon of free activities, entertainment and live music.

“We would encourage residents and visitors to the Borough to come along and help support the wide variety of charities and community groups who will come together to help make the Fayre a marvellous event.”

The Summer Charity Fayre forms part of the annual South Tyneside Festival, which is organised by South Tyneside Council and features an exciting FREE three-month programme of live music, family-friendly events, entertainment and activities.

Other highlights include a spectacular nautical-themed parade through the streets of South Shields on Saturday, 2 July, Proms in the Park on Sunday, 3 July, and four open air Sunday Concerts at Bents Park in July (10, 17, 24, 31).

There will also be Craft Markets at Harton Quays Park on the first Sunday of the month from May to September, live music at the Sandhaven Amphitheatre on Thursdays and Saturdays during June, a Kids Fun Fest featuring children’s entertainment on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 2 to 25 August and brass band performanceson Sunday afternoons throughout June, July and August.
