Diabetes UK has acquired office accommodation at Business Central Darlington.

The UK’s leading diabetes charity has signed a two year lease on just over 600 sq ft of office space which will be the regional office headquarters.

After a chance meeting with Vanessa Wood, centre manager at Business Central, the charity took action and moved in, Paula Maddison Green, regional support officer for Diabetes UK explains:

“While taking part in a first aid training course a conversation arose, initially about first aid but it then escalated to a full blown enquiry about a cost effective office solutions.

“As a charity we always strive to provide support to those most in need, and in easily accessible locations, whilst keeping our costs to a minimum. Located in the centre of Darlington, with the train station on the doorstep, and great transport links throughout the town, Business Central really did tick all the boxes.

“Our regional team of five play a valuable and important role for people with diabetes, there are currently over 4 million people in the UK living with diabetes and our aim, from our base in Darlington, is to increase awareness and let people know of the support that is on offer.”
