AN award-winning law firm has appointed a new business development manager.
Claire Hewitt has joined the team at EMG Solicitors, based at Abbeywoods Business Park Durham, as part of the company’s continued growth.
EMG was set up in 2014 by Emma Gaudern and has increased both its team and areas of expertise, now employing more than 25 staff working across a wide range of areas of law.
Claire – who joined the team in April – has more than 18 years of experience in professional services marketing, coupled with 15 years working exclusively with legal practices.
Educated at Durham High School for Girls, she studied human communications at the University of Sheffield before completing her professional diploma in Marketing at Carlett Park College, Wirral.
After starting her career working in the marketing departments of various firms across the North East and the North West, she moved into the legal sector in 2001 when she was appointed marketing manager at a large Liverpool law firm.
Since then, she has worked for several high profile firms across the region and in her new role will oversee all marketing activities at EMG.
She believes her specialist knowledge of marketing legal services will be beneficial and said: “I’ve enjoyed a very interesting career so far in professional services marketing and it’s an environment where I thrive.”
