New horizons for holiday park

Screen Shot 2016-06-06 at 10.47.09A HOLIDAY park in picturesque North Yorkshire is set to welcome more guests after acquiring an adjacent farm.

Swaleview Park, in a stunning riverside location in Swaledale, near Richmond, purchased the 26 acres of land in order to allow for continued business growth and development.

The family-run business, which also provides luxury holiday homes and lodges for sale, has been established for more than 70 years.

The business is now in the hands of the second generation of the Carter family who are looking forward to the future.

After deciding to embark on a new phase of development, owners Andy and Eileen Carter enlisted help from chartered accountants and business advisers Clive Owen LLP, a company specialising in business planning.

The Darlington-based firm began working with Swaleview Park three years ago, assisting with forward planning and finance. It enabled Andy and Eileen to put the business on a firm financial footing ahead of the £550,000 purchase, with finance provided by Robbie Peacock, Relationship Director at Santander Corporate & Commercial Banking.

Andy said: “With the help from Clive Owen LLP we were able to secure a deal with Santander that enabled us to purchase land. We have many ideas about how we want to take our business forward and this deal has now given us the scope to look more closely at our options. This is very exciting for us as a family business.”

As part of its business planning service, Clive Owen LLP offers follow-up support, including providing reviews and updated forecasts.

Partner Kevin Shotton said: “Swaleview Park is in a lovely part of the region and as a family business, it’s great to see it develop in this way.”

Robbie Peacock at Santander Corporate & Commercial said: “We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to further support this successful, local business.”
