The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of Friday 2 June but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.
A1 junction 56 Barton to junction 51 Leeming Bar
There will be phases of overnight lane closures and full carriageway closures while work takes place to upgrade the road to motorway standards. There will also be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed restriction 24 hours a day. From Monday 5 to Wednesday 7 June there will be a closure of the northbound exit slip road at Scotch Corner interchange. On Thursday 8 June there will be a closure of the northbound exit slip road and a closure of the southbound exit slip road at Scotch Corner interchange. Then onFriday 9 June there will be a closure of the northbound exit slip road at Scotch Corner interchange. On Saturday 10 June there will be a closure of the northbound exit slip road at junction 52 Catterick and a closure of the northbound entry slip road at junction 51 Leeming. On Sunday 11 June there will be a closure of the southbound exit slip road at junction 52 Catterick and a closure of the southbound entry slip road at junction 56 Barton. All of these closures take place from 8pm until 6am with diversions in place. This project is due for completion by winter 2017.
A19 Silverlink, North Tyneside
The A19 at the Wallsend junction will be closed with traffic being diverted up and over the junction for general maintenance work. This closure will take place on Thursday 8 June between 8pm and 6am. There will also be a 24 hour 30mph speed restriction with narrow lanes. This project is due for completion in March 2019.
A19 Tees Viaduct
The A19 southbound between the A1046 and A66 will be closed overnight on Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 June between 9pm and 6am for street lighting works. Clearly signed diversions will be in place.
A19/A66 Stockton Road interchange
The A19 northbound to the A66 westbound slip road will be closed on Wednesday 7 June and Thursday 8 June. The A66 westbound to the A19 southbound slip road will also be closed on Thursday 8 June and Friday 9 June. The A66 westbound to A19 northbound slip road will be closed on Friday 9 June. All closures will take place between 8pm and 6am and are for the replacement of lighting columns. Clearly signed diversions will be in place.
A174 Middlesbrough
The A174 eastbound carriageway between the A172 Stokesley Road interchange and the A1053 at Greystones roundabout will be closed for resurfacing. The closures are between 8pm and 6am until Saturday 17 June.
