Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Punjabi Princess Rameet Kaur steps in for Raxstar at Middlesbrough Mela this Weekend!

Rameet KaurA LAST minute cancellation from Brit Asian Superstar Raxstar has led to a frantic rush by Mela organisers to find a replacement for this weekend’s event.

The rap sensation suffered a major blow with the unexpected death of his father last weekend which resulted in a number of his shows being forced to cancel, one of which was this weekend’s Mela in Middlesbrough.

Raxstar sends his most sincere apologies to his fans in the North East and deeply regrets not being able to play the gig.

In an official statement from his management company he said: “I was really looking forward to returning to the North East and performing at Middlesbrough Mela.

“I know it’s one of the biggest and best UK Melas so I’m just hoping they invite me back next year.”

Mela Programmer Kash Patel said: “It’s a such shame for the people of Tees Valley to miss out on seeing Raxstar perform live this year as I know a lot of hard work had gone into his set.

“He has a huge following up north so I’m sure it’s just a matter of time before he returns. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this sad time.”

Upon hearing the news earlier this week, steps were made to find a suitable replacement and luckily up stepped multi talented singer, actress and dancer Rameet Kaur.

A former winner of the ‘Miss India Scotland’ title, Rameet is no stranger to the limelight. She has performed at countless Melas across the country and has been active in the Asian music industry since her teens.

She has released a number of chart topping singles and is now set to appear in a forthcoming blockbuster movie as the lead actress.

Kash added: “I have known Rameet ever since she was a teenager performing in her family dance group so it’s great to see her go on to do so well in such a competitive industry. She has released a number of chart topping singles and is now set to appear in a forthcoming blockbuster movie as the lead actress.

“I was delighted when she accepted my invitation to step in for Raxstar and it gives me great pleasure to welcome her to perform at Middlesbrough Mela. The audience are in for a real treat!”

Middlesbrough Mela takes place in Centre Square between the Town Hall and mima this weekend Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10.

Rameet’s performance will take place on Sunday along with other big names such as Shide Boss, Sahara, Roach Killa and Lehmber.
