A LUXURY North East spa could be in line for another major accolade after being shortlisted in the industry’s biggest awards.

The Spa at Ramside is in the running for the Good Spa Guide National Awards in the Wellness category.

The nomination comes just a year since the spa, located at Ramside Hall Hotel in County Durham, was awarded five bubble status just a few months after opening, placing it among the best spas in the country.

This year it has been selected as one of 10 spas nationwide to be shortlisted in the Wellness category, which rewards spas that offer the best wellbeing options, such as yoga retreats, healthy food options and specialist treatments.

Wellbeing lies at the heart of the Spa at Ramside. Last year it was the first spa in the country to become part of Wellness for Cancer, an international organisation which offers training within the spa industry to work with people affected by the condition.

Last month it was named among the UK’s top five cancer-friendly spas by the Sunday Times.

Jill Russell, spa director, is thrilled that the spa has made the shortlist of this category. “Being shortlisted in any awards is obviously an incredible achievement but we are extremely proud of this.

“We are passionate about our Wellness for Cancer and Wellbeing commitments so to be recognised in this area by the Good Spa Guide is very exciting for everyone involved,” she said.

“Our aim here at the Spa at Ramside is to ensure everyone is welcome and everyone can enjoy the perfect spa treat.

“Winning an award like this would be great but ultimately if our clients are happy then that is what is most important to us.”

Members of the public can now cast their votes for the Spa at Ramside by visitingwww.goodspaguide.co.uk/awards/2016-awards before October 31. Winners will be announced in November.
