THE public’s views are being sought over the proposed development of a key Middlesbrough housing site.

Guidance has been drawn up for a 2.9-hectare plot to the north of Marton Avenue, off Ladgate Lane, with potential for the development of around 72 high quality three- and four-bedroom detached and semi-detached homes.

The guidelines for developers cover layout principles, housing types, design, access and quality of development.

The site – currently in Council ownership – forms part of the Prissick area which also contains the new Middlesbrough Sports Village.

Views on the guidance are now being sought over the next four weeks, ending on Wednesday, June 28.

The consultation is mainly aimed at residents in the vicinity of the site, including those living along Marton Avenue and the new housing development at Ladgate Park.

Ward Councillors, community councils and business are also invited to make their views known.

To take part in the consultation or to discuss with officers, visit www.middlesbrough.gov.uk/planning-and-housing/planning-policy/supplementary-planning-documents-spd or call 01642 729065.
