RESIDENTS of the Borough and visitors to Stockton Town Centre will have the opportunity to find out more about over 40 local voluntary and charity organisations at a special market taking place on Friday (9 June).

The Stockton Volunteers Market, between 10am and 4pm, is free to attend and will offer a variety of interesting volunteering opportunities, craft and food stalls, as well as live music and entertainment all in a marquee on the High Street.

The market aims to celebrate the contributions of volunteers and raise awareness of the work being done by various local voluntary organisations.

People are being encouraged to pay a visit to learn more about how they can get involved and support them.

The Stockton-on-Tees Volunteers website – www.stocktonvolunteers.co.uk – created by Catalyst in partnership with Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, also includes valuable information on how people with disabilities, over 65s and refugees and asylum seekers can also get involved in volunteering.
