CALVERT TRUST KIELDER has joined forces with Northumberland Wildlife Trust to offer nature lovers the chance to see local wildlife on a unique ‘wildlife cruise’.
Staff from Calvert Trust Kielder will join knowledgeable volunteers from Northumberland Wildlife Trust on Saturdays and Sundays from May through to August for the cruises and will be on hand to help you spot local wildlife and with luck one or more of the Ospreys!
The motor boat cruise around Kielder Water lasts approximately two hours with tickets costing £23 per person. The boat is covered but has open sides to allow people to get a closer view of the nature on show.
The popular ‘wildlife cruises’ aim to showcase the variety of wildlife and spectacular scenery on show at Kielder Water & Forest Park, as well as spotting local ospreys.
Kelly Hollings, Northumberland Wildlife Trust’s estates officer said: “This is a lovely activity and a really good way for visitors to catch a glimpse of some of the fantastic wildlife we have here in the Park. Calvert Trust Kielder and Northumberland Wildlife Trust staff are very passionate about what they do so it’s sure to be a very informative and enjoyable trip – and fingers crossed you’ll see the ospreys too!”
All proceeds from the event will be used to help disabled people and their families to experience life changing outdoor adventure at Calvert Trust Kielder, located in the stunning Kielder Water & Forest Park, Northumberland.
The cruises operate on Saturdays, Sundays and some Wednesdays beginning May 13th through to August 16th 2017 and depart afternoon or evening.
