A leading heating, insulation and renewables energy company is helping to deliver considerable savings to homeowners in Hartlepool.
In collaboration with Hartlepool Borough Council’s Warm Up Hartlepool scheme, which has seen more households than ever before qualify for energy saving installations, 0800 Repair has delivered £1,274,421 worth of energy bill savings to homeowners across the town since March 2018.
Over this period of time, 0800 Repair installed over 100 energy efficient home insulation measures and replacement gas boilers including room in roof insulation, under floor insulation and cavity wall insulation using waterproof poly-bead material.
The Houghton-le-Spring based company has been working alongside the Council’s Housing Standards team as part of the Warm Up Hartlepool scheme to ensure as many households as possible benefit from the Governments Energy Companies Obligation scheme (ECO3) and the Local Authorities ECO-Flex scheme.
ECO3 and ECO-Flex funding is available to lower income homeowners and those in receipt of certain benefits, as well as people that have been diagnosed with health conditions that make them vulnerable to the effects of living in a cold home.
ECO Flex means the Local Authority sets its own eligibility criteria and Hartlepool Borough Council has ensured as many households as possible across the borough can qualify for funding. Graeme Stephenson, Partnerships Manager at 0800 Repair, said: “A lot of people are unaware of the types of grants available to them for these energy efficient works. By working with Hartlepool Borough Council, we are trying to help raise awareness and deliver further significant savings, while tackling fuel poverty in the North East.
“The benefits are huge for qualifying customers, which will help to reduce energy bills and positively impact on the carbon footprint in these areas. Our team of experienced engineers and renewable energy specialists are on hand to support the most vulnerable across the region.
Graeme added: “The projects we’ve been involved in have proven to be very successful so far, and we’re looking forward to continuing our work with Hartlepool Borough Council.”
Tony Hanson, Hartlepool Borough Council’s Assistant Director of Environment and Neighbourhood Services, said: “We are delighted that the Warm Up Hartlepool scheme is going so well. This is a great example of how partnership working is really helping residents in Hartlepool.
“Not being restricted by a very exact set of criteria means that many residents in the borough who may have missed out on previous schemes are now eligible to apply for a range of energy efficiency measures.
“We would encourage as many people as possible to get in touch to see if they could benefit.”
