THIS winter, Newcastle urban retreat House of Savannah has welcomed six new faces at apprentice level to its team, which now exceeds 30.
The lifestyle salon and spa recently marked its first year in larger premises at prime city centre location, Old Eldon Square, where it has made significant investment in both the building and staff.
Spencer Latham, Mary-Ann Carr, Megan Shevill, Rebecca Johnson-Richards, Rachael McGibbon and Jordyn Marshall have all recently joined as apprentices across a number of disciplines.
While Spencer, Mary-Ann, Megan, Rebeca and Jordyn are based in hair service side of the business, Rachael has taken up the position of spa therapist training towards her Level 3 qualification.
Chloe Foster has also been appointed as booking co-ordinator within front of house, moving from her previous role in the salon and top stylist Steven Moore has returned to the salon.
House of Savannah owner Marc Cunningham said: “The build up to Christmas is always one of our busiest times so the addition of our apprentices has meant we have been able to cater to increased demand.
“Each of them have proved invaluable in supporting senior members of the team and bringing enthusiasm in learning new skills. We’re confident they will all thrive in their roles into 2016.”
Founded in 2000 by Marc and Kay Cunningham, House of Savannah added a new dimension to its business with the introduction of its wellness suite and adjoining relaxation area – the Whisper Lounge – this autumn.
The urban retreat now boasts a full service spa destination to complement its popular Buddha Lounge chill-out zone, nail bar, pedicure station and boutique therapy rooms nestled into the eaves of the terrace.
