A Teesside-based management consultancy business has won its first major contracts following its expansion.
Focus on Success – which expanded significantly last month by taking on board six associate directors from across the North East and Yorkshire – has been appointed to work with York-based Novalux LED Ltd and Livingston House Construction Ltd, headquartered in Birtley.
Novalux LED Ltd, which was established in 2014, helps companies and organisations to transform their working environments by fitting energy efficient commercial LED lighting, helping them to save up to 75% of their lighting electricity costs.
The company reached out to Focus on Success and has appointed Meg Heath as its non-executive director, as it looks towards a successful future.
Managing Director David Emslie, said: “As a relatively new business, it’s great to know we can now rely on the support and advice of someone with as much experience as Meg.
“The company is going through an important period of growth and we fully understand and appreciate the value of having a NED on our board, as part of an extended management team.
“We are learning from Meg and her past experiences every day and we believe there is no better, low cost option to help grow the business.”
Meg, who helped to develop and grow the Business Enterprise Fund and has run her own business, said: “It’s exciting to be with the company in the start-up phase. Novalux LED has achieved a lot in its first year and I am looking forward to supporting the team in building on this.
“The ethos of Focus on Success is to provide support in a way which provides the greatest benefit to the client. Therefore my work constantly changes, so as well as providing strategic planning and guidance, I will be assisting in developing internal processes and business development.
“It’s going very well so far as we have secured the first tranche of funding to take the business to the next level, which is a huge step forward.”
With over 32 years in the civil and construction industry, Livingston House Construction Ltd, has built up its reputation as one of the market leaders, having worked on contracts across the North East and further afield.
William Mallam, construction manager, believes the support and expertise offered by Focus on Success, in particular, Bob Marris, is vital for the company’s development.
He said: “Bob’s expertise in strategic business planning is already proving pivotal for us in our aim to double turnover.
“Together, Bob and the management team, have already put strategies into place to help develop a clearer picture of where the business is going.”
Bob – who will be working with the company throughout the whole of 2016 – added: “My job is to bring clear aims and objectives to the company and management team.
“I have many years’ experience of working strategically with growing SMEs and strengthening the management team. The ability to look at the business as a whole and to ensure set targets are met as far as possible, is something I look forward to bringing to Livingston House Construction Ltd.”
Talking about these significant contract wins for Focus on Success, Managing Director Gary Lumby said: “I am delighted to be able to support both Novalux LED and Livingston House Construction with the appointment of their first Non-Executive Directors in Meg Heath and Bob Marris.
“I am certain the expertise and experience they will bring to the two companies will be invaluable and help accelerate their growth ambitions.”
