RMT Accountants & Business Advisors is investing in its future development with the recruitment of five new early career associates.
Harry Fletcher, Grace Robinson, Finn Rogers, Ellie Brown and Joey Macdonald have all taken up new roles with the Gosforth-headquartered firm.
Harry and Grace have both joined RMT’s Audit service line after graduating the University of Warwick and Newcastle University respectively.
Finn also joined the Audit team on completion of his A Levels at Cramlington Learning Village Sixth Form, while after finishing their A Levels at Prudhoe Community High School and Gosforth Academy respectively, Ellie and Joey are now part of RMT’s Accounting team.
Each new recruit will be working towards their professional qualifications while receiving on-the-job coaching and support from their managers and the practice’s senior team.
RMT Accountants & Business Advisors is part of the Sumer Group, the UK’s fastest-growing accountancy firm, which delivers professional support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland and employs over 3,000 staff across more than 80 offices.
The new recruits will also take part in the Sumer Academy, a group-wide development programme designed to support them up to the point of qualifying.
The Academy brings together induction, professional skills development, commercial awareness and service-line technical training, and helps to provide a consistent learning experience across the Sumer Group while allowing for local and role-specific development.
Helen Moran, people partner at RMT Accountants & Business Advisors, says: “Our early careers programme assesses applicants against a demanding set of criteria and by reaching this point, our new recruits have all shown themselves to be extremely capable individuals.
“The extensive training they will all receive will help them build the professional experience, technical knowledge and personal qualities they will need as they progress through their careers, as well as the skills they need to build strong relationships with their clients and colleagues.
“The Sumer Academy adds an additional layer to the training our new recruits will receive here as they begin to develop their careers and we’re confident that they all have bright futures ahead of them.
“We’ve already begun the process of recruiting for our 2027 early careers programme vacancies in Newcastle and Hexham, and, as we’ve done this year, we will be looking right across the region to find the best available North East talent.”
RMT Accountants & Business Advisors provides the full range of financial and business advisory services through its specialist accountancy, tax, medical and healthcare, corporate finance and restructuring teams.
Stephen Slater, managing partner at RMT Accountants & Business Advisors, adds: “Maintaining a flow of young talent into and through the business is an essential part of RMT’s long-term development and we look at these new recruits as having the potential to one day be part of our senior leadership team.”
