North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

All onboard the Lizzie Line

Windsor & Eton Brewery are celebrating the official opening of the Elizabeth Line with a special limited edition Pale Ale, affectionally named the Lizzie Line™.

Will Calvert, MD explains

“The opening of the Elizabeth Line is great news. We already have lots of fans across London and with Windsor being so closely connected to one of the main stations it makes our brewery even more accessible. As the opening is taking place only a few days before the Platinum Jubilee celebrations kick-off, we felt that our special Platinum Pale Ale was perfect to toast the opening. Windsor is an amazing town with so much for visitors to enjoy and what better way to round off a visit than with a cold, fresh beer that has been brewed locally”

The Lizzie Line™ Pale Ale is a beer that everyone can enjoy. At 4% ABV, it’s brewed with barley grown at the Royal Farm in Windsor and New Zealand Pacific Jade hops. Together they create a beer that’s beautifully pale in colour yet refreshing in taste.

To celebrate the 100km of the Elizabeth Line, the Windsor & Eton Brewery is releasing a can per kilometre ahead of the full opening of the line and launch of the beer in 2023.

Customers can buy the limited-edition beer from the Brewery & WeBrew Online Shop as part of a special WeBrew beer selection box which includes a branded beer glass, 1 can of Lizzie Line™, and 1 can of the Capital Lager and 9 different Windsor & Eton bottled beers, retailing at £30.

As the Elizabeth Line is set to connect Londoners from East to West, another positive is the new line makes it much easier to travel between the breweries that form part of the London Brewers Alliance. Windsor & Eton Brewery are proud members of the LBA and will celebrate these new links to London as part of the theme in the breweries’ annual Beer Festival. This year’s two-day event, featuring fellow breweries from across London will be held at the Unit 4 Brewery TapRoom on the 2nd & 3rd of September. People can sign up for the Windsor & Eton Brewery newsletter for more information on how to get tickets for the quick selling event.

Quick Change for a Glorious Day Out

The Elizabeth Line will run into Paddington from across the Capital and from there a 13 or 18-minute commute* takes you to Slough which is a quick hop across to the Windsor & Eton Central Station with just a 3-minute onward walk to the brewery.
