Families from throughout the North East are dusting off their elf costumes for the second intu Elf Run planned for Sunday 6 December at intu Eldon Square and intu Metrocentre.Last Christmas, over 1,000 eager elves took to the region’s favourite shopping malls to take part in the 1km charity fun run, and this year, organisers are expecting even larger numbers.
Entry to the event costs £10 per child, which includes an elf T-shirt and hat, an ‘official helper’ certificate from Santa and a runner’s medal.
Participating elves are also being encouraged to fundraise on behalf of The Percy Hedley Foundation, and to also bring in unwrapped presents for Santa to distribute to children in the North East. For full instructions and registration go to the Elf Run website at www.elfrun.co.uk.
