North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Screen Shot 2015-11-18 at 09.10.01Families from throughout the North East are dusting off their elf costumes for the second intu Elf Run planned for Sunday 6 December at intu Eldon Square and intu Metrocentre.
Last Christmas, over 1,000 eager elves took to the region’s favourite shopping malls to take part in the 1km charity fun run, and this year, organisers are expecting even larger numbers.
Entry to the event costs £10 per child, which includes an elf T-shirt and hat, an ‘official helper’ certificate from Santa and a runner’s medal.
Participating elves are also being encouraged to fundraise on behalf of The Percy Hedley Foundation, and to also bring in unwrapped presents for Santa to distribute to children in the North East. For full instructions and registration go to the Elf Run website at www.elfrun.co.uk.
Karen Carr, intu regional marketing manager, North, said: “Last year’s Elf Run was a huge hit, and we are building on that success this year with another festive family event before our stores open on Sunday 6 December. Christmas may be a time of indulgence but last year our shoppers proved they were happy to get active, get ‘elfy’ and get together for these unique 1k indoor family fun runs which will raise valuable funds for The Percy Hedley Foundation, an organisation recognised nationally and internationally as leading the way in the provision of specialist, high quality, and innovative services for disabled people. As this is the time of year for giving this is a great opportunity for our shoppers to get into the festive spirit, and  to run off a few pounds to make way for more treats!”
