Screen Shot 2016-04-19 at 11.16.52Hambleton’s Civic Centre has turned yellow and blue to celebrate the visit of the Tour de Yorkshire next week (May 1).

The District Council’s headquarters is decked with bunting and bikes – which have been specially decorated by the team at Northdale Horticulture in Northallerton.

The race – which has attracted top cyclists from across the world – comes through Great Ayton, Stokesley, Hutton Rudby, Northallerton, Thirsk and Sutton under Whitestonecliffe before heading up Sutton Bank and a finish in Scarborough.

“It is the first time the race has visited the district and the communities on its route are busy decorating their homes and shops ready for the cyclists passing through,” said Council Leader, Councillor Mark Robson.

“We wanted to get into the spirit of it at the Civic Centre and are delighted that the team at Northdale have helped us do just that – the bikes they have decorated are one offs and look great gracing the civic centre both inside and out.”
