RESIDENTS, businesses and voluntary and community organisations are being asked for their views on two documents which will help shape the future of Stockton Borough’s Local Plan.
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council has committed to produce a Local Plan, a vision for the future development of the area in relation to housing, the economy, community facilities and infrastructure.
Before work can progress on the production of a new Local Plan the Council is seeking views on the Statement of Community Involvement – an outline how the Council will engage with communities when producing the Local Plan and the Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report – to ensure that the Local Plan promotes sustainable development.
Councillor Nigel Cooke, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Transport, said: “We welcome people’s views on these important documents which will inform, direct and support a Local Plan for our Borough. The Local Plan will replace all existing policy documents so it is important that we listen and get it right to make sure that we get a robust and proper plan in place.”
