Major new operating hub secures jobs for the local community as well as providing support for Shrewsbury Town Football Club Foundation
1st October 2026 – Toyota Insurance Services, the insurance provider for Toyota and Lexus vehicles, has opened a major new operating hub in Shrewsbury. Securing jobs for the local community, the new hub completes a national network of centres supporting Toyota’s range of insurance products and services. It also provides hot-desking and meeting facilities for Toyota and Lexus colleagues from across the UK, delivering increased economic activity to the town.
Underlining its commitment to the town, Toyota Insurance Services has already donated 50 Microsoft Surface devices and docking stations to Shrewsbury Town Football Club Foundation, with plans to extend its support to the Foundation over the coming years. Reflecting the partnership between Toyota Insurance Services and Shrewsbury Town Football Club Foundation, Will Boyle, Shrewsbury Town FC player and England cricketer, Saquib Mahmood, were part of the opening ceremony.
As Jason Milton, Chief Executive Officer of Toyota Insurance Services explained, Shrewsbury was selected for the new Affinity Hub for its location in the centre of the UK, complementing operations already established in the North (Newcastle upon Tyne), and South (London & Epsom) of the country.
“Aligned to the strong network of Toyota and Lexus dealerships across the UK, we have established Toyota Affinity Hubs to provide a local contact point for motor retailers and motorists who want to access the wide range of insurance products and services we offer. Plus, our Affinity Hubs provide a direct connection to the Toyota business as a whole, providing colleagues with shared workspace for staff visiting from other Toyota offices..
The new Affinity Hub in Shrewsbury, will provide administration and claims support for a range of insurance products including Total Loss Asset Protection, Minor Damage Protection, Excess Protection and Tyre and Alloy Protection. It has undergone a major refit to make its technology and facilities fit for purpose for ambitious growth plans, including upgrading to new laptops. This meant that older devices were no longer required. However, rather than scrapping the older devices, Toyota Insurance Services chose to give them a second life in the community. Once cleaned and prepared they were donated to Shrewsbury Town Football Club Foundation which supports people of all ages across Shropshire through education, wellbeing, and community programmes. By donating the devices, Toyota Insurance Services aims to support both the Foundation’s staff and the many community initiatives they deliver, helping them stay connected and continue making a positive difference across the region.
“On behalf of Shrewsbury Town Foundation, we would like to thank Toyota for their generous donation of 50 tablet computers and docking stations,” said Shin Aujla, Foundation Director. “These devices will provide essential technology within our community-focused programmes, namely our Employability Youth Hub, which supports young people into work and education. We’re proud to be associated with Toyota as a global brand, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact this donation will have within our communities across Shropshire.”
“The donation of the laptops reflects the Toyota commitment to sustainability, which is a core priority for our business, guiding the way we operate, innovate, and create long-term value,” added Jason Milton. “As importantly, as a business with a strong local presence, it is important that we actively support initiatives that create real opportunities within the community. We are delighted that these devices will enhance the Foundation’s community-focused programmes, particularly the Employability Youth Hub, helping young people across Shropshire access education, training, and employment opportunities.”
