Dine al fresco this summer, at Chaophraya Newcastle

Visit family-owned Thai restaurant, Chaophraya Newcastle, for authentic Thai dining in the sun.

As summer approaches and the weather warms, what better way to soak up the sun rays than relaxing with a meal, cocktail or favourite drink sat outside. If you’re looking for an authentic Thai dish, coupled with a refreshing cocktail, whilst sat on our exclusive Monument terrace, then look no further.

Local Thai restaurant, Chaophraya, is now taking bookings for its popular outdoor terrace, for guests to experience an authentic Thai menu in the heart of Newcastle.

Offering a modern Thai dining experience, Chaophraya Newcastle’s outdoor terrace is perfect for guests to enjoy signature Chaophraya dishes, whilst experiencing the diverse variety of recipes from the North of Thailand through to the South without the need of a plane ticket.

Located in the heart of Newcastle, in the popular Eldon Square Shopping Centre, Chaophraya Newcastle offers scenic rooftop views overlooking the city and out to Grey’s Monument.

Enjoy a range of traditional Thai dishes with the likes of ‘Pad Thai’ and ‘Gaeng Massaman’ along with Chaophraya’s ‘From the Garden’ menu, showcasing an array of authentic vegetarian and vegan Thai foods. Guests can also take advantage of the restaurant’s brand-new cocktail menu, perfect for those summer days sat in the sun. The bar serves a range of both signature and authentic Thai cocktails, with the likes of Smoking Whip, Lopburi and Tom Yum Siam, which can be enjoyed either with an accompanying meal, or by themselves whilst sat in the sun.

Of course, Chaophraya provides table seating for both small and large groups, however guests are seated outside on a first come first serve basis. The space also boasts vibrancy during the summer months, private booths and overhead lighting, all of which is surrounded with glass walls, offering the best views of Greys Monument and the surrounding area.

The new menu, which launched in October of last year, was inspired by the movement towards taking the Thai dining experience to the next level and elevating each customer’s ‘at table’ experience.  This includes bringing an ‘element of theatre’ to the table through interactive food experiences such as; hot plates, pouring sauces, personalised dish customisation and enhancing the premium experience through colour, vibrancy and crockery.
