Frank’s the Flooring Store, one of the North East’s best known names in retail, is searching for two apprentices as it approaches the opening of its new Consett store.
Four new jobs are being created in County Durham and on Tyneside with the development of the new store. Two staff are being transferred from branches in Newcastle, meaning two retail roles are being created in the city, while the apprenticeships will operate directly from Consett.
Frank’s is looking for an Administration Apprentice and a Warehousing Apprentice and is working with partners including the North East Chamber of Commerce to fill the vacancies.
Work is ongoing to fit out the new purpose-built premises, on the Pond Court Business Park, which will expand the company’s presence in the County Durham town, with more floor space than the existing store in Middle Street.
The new 10,000 sq ft Frank’s the Flooring Store scheduled to open in November 2015 and follows the opening of the 25th Frank’s store, in Cramlington, earlier this year.
Mick Copeland, Business Development Manager at Frank’s the Flooring Store, said: “The new Consett store will be bigger and feature a greater range of flooring than we have ever been able to offer in the town before, and the opportunity to create new jobs is the icing on the cake.
“By giving young people the opportunity to come in as apprentices, we will add youthful enthusiasm to our experienced team and continue our policy of developing talent in the towns where we have stores.
“Expanding our presence in Consett means we can increase our growing range of great carpets, laminate and vinyl flooring, solid and engineered wood flooring, artificial grass and rugs.”
