UK utilities specialist, Consultiv Utilities, and the Durham County FA have formalised a new agreement to support grassroots football clubs across the region with their utilities contracts.
At a time of year when bills are rising and overheads can put community clubs under strain, the new partnership will see Consultiv Utilities offer support across electricity, gas, waste and water contracts.
As part of the agreement, the utilities business has also assumed the role of headline sponsor for several of the region’s prestigious competitions, including the Durham County FA Sunday Cup – the region’s Adult knock-out competition tournament featuring over nearly 200 teams.
In addition, Consultiv has also confirmed sponsorship for both the DCFA North East Ability Counts League and Durham County FA Junior Ability Counts League – pan disability competitions providing playing opportunities for teams from Under 8s through to adult teams.
Partnership Business Development Manager for Consultiv Utilities, Liam Barrett, said,
“Through this new partnership we hope to be able to provide valuable support to grassroots clubs that have seen overheads rise sharply in recent years. Our expertise across energy, waste and water can help them to identify potential opportunities to save money – funds that can then be channelled back into the playing teams and facilities for the community.
We are also proud to be headline sponsor of three respected county competitions, which will bring together thousands of players in hundreds of matches over the course of the 2025/26 season.”
Durham County FA Chief Executive Officer, John Topping, commented,
“We’re thrilled to be able to announce Consultiv Utilities as headline sponsors of the Durham County FA Sunday Cup, DCFA Junior Ability Counts League and DCFA North East Ability Counts League. Not only is the business’s sponsorship greatly appreciated but Consultiv’s expertise will also offer clubs meaningful advice and support in managing overheads – particularly as we head into the winter months.”
