Children in the north east can enjoy a week of robot-building fun during a hi-tech half term of free activities at intu Eldon Square and intu Metrocentre.
From 30 May to 1 June intu Eldon Square’s smallest visitors will enter a fun, futuristic workshop where they will have the opportunity to refine their mechanical skills and make their very own robot, cook up a storm in the robotic kitchen making crazy robot cookies and cupcakes and even make friends with an interactive robot called MIP!
The hi-tech fun continues over at intu Metrocentre with an exciting new robotic themed Metrognome show – The Metrognomes in Robot Rhythm. This half term Herbert, Sherbet, Maggot and Rusty are literally making a new friend as they hit the workshop to create a robot buddy for the crazy inventor Percy Veer. With electronic escapades, rocking robots and droid dances – it’s an adventure guaranteed to capture the imagination of any tiny-techies and mini-mechanics during the school holidays.
intu’s nationwide ‘Shopper View’ panel, made up of customers of its 14 centres up and down the country, selected the robot-inspired theme for half term week after they were polled on the activities they’d most like their children to take part in during the school holidays.
Karen Carr, regional marketing manager, intu north, said:
“We’re excited to be bringing families a fun-packed week of free events and activities that will help them make the most of a visit to intu Eldon Square and intu Metrocentre over the school holidays.
“It’s the latest compelling event to be created by intu thanks to valuable insight from our customers.”
