A special family fun day is to be held at Hodgkin Park, Scotswood, during the half term school holiday, where people can scoot, step and cycle into summer!
Held between 11am and 2pm on Thursday the 2nd June, exciting activities and outdoor events will be available to all who attend.
The day will begin with a bike ride, fun run and park walk followed by a host of free games, sports, outdoor activities and arts and crafts workshops.
Adventurous families can also take a walk on the wild side with a nature trail before learning about mammals, through an enthralling skins and skulls activity.
There will be activities exploring healthy eating options and goodibags will be available for those who completed the walk, run and ride. Under 12s must be accompanied by an adult.
The event has been organised and delivered in partnership between New Tyne West Development Company (NTWDC), Newcastle City Council, Change for Life, Centre West, Friends of Hodgkin Park and Benwell Nature Park, Hat-Trick, Health Works Newcastle, Northumberland Wildlife Trust, Riverside Community Health Project and Sure Start.
