Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Firm hands over £1.8m of projects with sights set on busiest year yet

A leading commercial fit-out specialist is set to hand over projects amounting to £1.8m this month following a busy quarter transforming premises across the UK.

Aptus Fit Out is enjoying its busiest year to date and has most recently delivered a series of high-profile projects including a comprehensive refit of the common areas within Generator Studios and the bespoke fit-out of Learning Curve Group’s new Spennymoor HQ.

Working with Knight Frank and Design North, Aptus shaped Learning Curve’s high-spec office at Durhamgate to offer a vibrant and contemporary workspace to accommodate its rapid expansion.

Meanwhile, tenants of Generator Studios can now enjoy a new interior including custom-built self-service drinks area, centrepiece reception space and new lift lobbies, following a refurbishment project transforming the shared areas throughout the multi-let office on Trafalgar Street in Newcastle.

Brenda McLeish, CEO at Learning Curve Group said: “We’ve been in our amazing new HQ for just 6 months and have already outgrown it. Aptus has done a fantastic job of re-configuring our new units to support this growth which will see us take over the entire development.

“It was important to us that the project was delivered on time and to our exact specification; the look and feel needed to be consistent to ensure our employees can enjoy the collaborative space as much as the existing buildings – and it looks fantastic!”

Other projects for Aptus have included the Ponteland branch of Newcastle Building Society, the 200 Degrees coffee shop in Liverpool and a series of schemes in the medical sector, including a number of orthodontics clinics and a cosmetic surgery clinic in Jesmond on behalf of LASE Cosmetic.

Chris Price, commercial director at Aptus said: “With a recent report highlighting that North East office lettings are at a 10-year high, we’re experiencing a high level of enquiries from the sector and look forward to announcing further high profile projects soon.

“We’re also particularly pleased to be working on a third coffee shop for 200 Degrees in Birmingham, having successfully completed work for the company in both Liverpool and Lincoln already.

“All in all, 2019 is proving to be our busiest year to date, with our teams delivering projects UK-wide and across a wide variety of sectors seeing sales of over £3m in quarter one.”

Established for more than 12 years, Aptus, based in Newcastle’s Hoult’s Yard, works to provide a comprehensive design and space planning service with full project management of schemes for office space, retail, leisure and healthcare.
