A FREE course is being held next month to help people deal with issues surrounding cancer.

The two-day Cancer: Prevention & Early Detection course takes place at the Community Hub at Newport Settlement on Friday, July 10 and Friday, July 17.

It’s open to Middlesbrough residents and is a chance to learn about the early warning signs of a disease that directly or indirectly affects one in three people.

Those attending will also find out about screening programmes and how cancers can be prevented.

The course – Accredited by One Awards at Level 2 – takes place at the Hub off Union Street from 9.15am to 3pm. Tea and coffee will be provided, but participants should bring their own lunch.

Places are limited and booking is essential – to arrange, contact Alma Dennison on 01642 802890 or email alma_dennison@middlesbrough.gov.uk
